Ford has announced a recall of more than 100,000 of its vehicles in North America due to a number of safety issues.

Ford Recalls More Than 100, 000 Vehicles Over Safety Defects

The vehicles that have been affected by this recall are the Taurus, the Interceptor, the Flex and the Edge from model years from 2012 to 2014.

According to the company, the right-hand halfshaft is not properly seated, and hence it may disengage over a period of time. In addition, if the vehicle is parked without a parking brake, it also stands a chance of rolling unexpectedly.

The company has not received any reports of injuries, accidents or fires related linked to these defects.

Ford plans to notify owners of the vehicles in the halfshaft recall by mail next month. In all of the cases, dealers will repair the vehicles for free.
