JFE Holdings Inc and IHI Corporation announced that the effective date of the management integration of their respective subsidiaries Universal Shipbuilding Corporation and IHI Marine United Inc. is January 1, 2013, as announced tentatively on November 20.

The date has been finalized due to the conclusion of all reviews and approval processes related to competition law abroad. All remaining preparations are now being carried out.
